Board Examinations are the most challenging times for students. They are surely more anxious than ever as they get ready for the board certification. Some of the tips to help you prepare better for the board examination are stated below:
Start early: Preparations for board exams must start at the beginning of the 12th grade, although some students start preparing 3 months before the board exam. The plan of starting to prepare just 3 months before the board exams will be only fruitful if you are well prepared with your notes and everything related to your board exams.
Develop strong time management skills: Students should stick to the study schedule and avoid procrastination to acquire strong time management skills.
- Make a healthy sleep for 5-6 hours
- Morning hours are good for retaining as the mind is fresh. Study subjects like Biology, Economics, Chemistry, etc. in the morning hours.
- If you have free time in your school, practice & study during those hours.
- Concentrate more on self-study and making notes as the exams approach. This will help you be more confident.
- Subjects like Hindi, English, etc. are percentage boosters. Divide your time in such a manner that these subjects are also studied timely.
Practice of Mock papers and previous papers: Take mock tests to assess your level of preparedness. Solving problems improves your conceptual comprehension as well as your speed and accuracy of thought. It will help you understand the difficulty of the examination. For class 10th, the last 5years sample papers of board exams are enough to practice for the final board exams, and for class 12th, the last 10 years' papers are enough to boost up for the board examination.
Neat Answer sheets are a bonus: Your answer sheets have to be well presented. Work on your handwriting, and underline phrases and important concepts.
Work on your weak points: Take a look at the answer sheets of class tests and pre-board exams and identify the mistakes and gaps. Make a list of those mistakes and work towards making your weak points stronger
Physical & Mental Fitness: Keep yourself in good physical & mental health by taking regular breaks, staying hydrated; eating a balanced & nutritious diet, get enough sleep a night before the exam so that the brain can reset and remember things more accurately.
Above all, on the day of the exam, leave all your study material at home. Be calm and confident to attempt your exam. Do not rush into answering the questions immediately as soon as you get the question paper. Glance through all the questions quickly and make a strategy to answer them timely and appropriate. Towards the end, cross-check the answers and make sure you have presented the answers clearly & neatly and then nothing can stop you from scoring well in the board examination. Preparing for board exams can be a challenging yet a rewarding endeavour, and adopting smart study strategies is paramount for success.
All the best!
